Was talking with someone regarding all of the significant happenings regarding historic preservation this year, and the list was quite impressive (to me, at least).

Old Arlington Inc hiring their first Executive Director.

San Marco Preservation hiring their first Executive Director.

A Phillip Randolph becoming a Florida Main Street program and hiring their first Executive Director.

Springfield Preservation & Revitalization celebrating their 50th anniversary and the 10th anniversary of Jacksonville PorchFest.

The REHAB program being implemented.

LaVilla Uptown being publicily established as a new preservation organization.

Good momentum moving forward.

The Bold City Ball that was held on October 3rd featured representatives from SPAR, SMPS, Eastside CDC, Jacksonville History Center, the mayor's office, and Councilman Peluso.  It was a great celebration of Jacksonville's historic organizations, the work they've done to get to this point, and the work we can do together to make Jacksonville an even better place.

San Marco turns 100 next year and SMPS turns 50 in 2026.  Big times for the former city of South Jacksonville.

Toss in the Union Terminal Warehouse nearing completion! Its Florida's largest project ever to use federal historic rehabilitation tax credits.

That place is looking awesome.  It could really be a catalyst for that area.

^The developer recently purchased the old concrete plant property next door for a new construction phase II. Really looking forward to seeing this project leased up and open for business. Night and day since this 2022 picture:
