Main Street resurfacing may remove on-street parking

Main Street through Springfield really wants to be more like St. Johns Avenue in Avondale, but with reverse angle parking and large shade trees. Higher-finish retail main street precedent examples would be Park Avenue in Winter Park, FL and First Street in Sanford, FL. But you have to get FDOT off of Main, because they only want to move as many cars as fast as possible to achieve that mythical LOS-A, at the expense of a thriving mixed-use walkable retail corridor.
