Chick-fil-A drive thru

The drive-thru is different from that of other fast food restaurants, or at least the ones on Southside Blvd and Oak Bluff Ln. They always have people out there taking orders instead of going up to a speaker and placing your order. Does anyone have any idea why Chick-fil-A is like this?

To get people through the line faster.

Chick-fil-a being fast is a myth. They've never been ranked highly in speed, tho they're typically number one in order accuracy and customer service.

Speculating here, but if anything they give the illusion of speed not to mention you're probably less likely to give up and drive away if you already have ordered, which is probably why they have people out there to lock your order in early. Some locations don't even have the space to allow you to give up.

When you typically go, they always have ten cars in front of you.  If there were 10 cars in front of you at any other fast food restaurant I would bet my paycheck Chick-fil-A is faster.  That's why it seems faster. Your average customer lines aka how many cars in front of you when you first pull up is dramatically different

Forza Napoli!  EPL has nothing on the Serie A

Unless I am mistaken, Chic Fil A is the ONLY fast food drive thru where you are personally greeted by a well groomed, polite young person who takes your order. That puts them miles ahead of the competition. (Unfortunatley I do eat in my car more than I should, so I have some experience in drive thru's.)  Speaking into a box, struggling to communicate an order, and hoping that when you get to the window everything is correct is how most of the other DT's handle business.  Plus CFA is incredibly consistent in the quality of their food. It's a winning combination.

1. All due respect to the links posted Chic Fil A can move a long line quicker than most fast food chains.
2. Generally happy helpful staff.
3. Subpar chicken that seems to be simply a vehicle for the enormous amount of salt hiding the meat's short comings.
4. However reasonably good side items and shakes.
