Agency rebuts JEA’s ‘death spiral’ forecast

The Florida Municipal Power Agency gave a presentation Thursday disputing JEA's view that remaining government-owned will be a death knell for the utility. FMPA says solutions are "within everyone's reach" for overcoming challenges posed by changes in energy technology.

JEA's bleak assessment that it faces an oncoming "death spiral" is overblown and doesn't square with the utility's own 10-year projections filed with state regulators or with JEA's actual growth in electric sales the past five years, according to a report given Thursday to the Florida Municipal Power Agency.

This entire saga is nothing more than Curry trying to sell JEA and pay for all of the city's poor fiscal management.  With all the proceeds from a JEA sale he can pay off all the Police/Fire debt and be a modern day wonder boy.  How about fixing our schools boy-wonder?

I don't want him fixing the schools.  I want him to get out of the way and stop obstructing a vote on the 1/2 cent sales tax to fix the schools.  He has too much power, and has the backing of the spineless, like minded council.
