My God Downtown Jacksonville is lovely on Autumn Nights.

In regard to the retail space in the Churchwell building, I am not sure what the developers want to do with that.  When I last spoke to them, they definitely said they would like to maintain control of it on I am assuming a lease basis and allow for some commercial business to hopefully thrive.  As of right now, there are no immediate plans.

It sounds lovely.  I think that downtown and the surrounding neighborhoods will only get better as gas prices get higher.  There is an interesting documentary on PBS about how commuting from the outskirsts of town into the city for work is breaking a lot of families financially.

People are eventually going to have to leave the suburbs and then city planners will have to get it in gear and play catch up to handle all the housing and transportation needs.  Of course, this will only help downtown:)  It sounds like Jacksonville is well on its way though.

do we even light the modis bldg anymore?
Yes, but the teal is gone this year. Guess, it was too expensive to put teal colored panels over the lights.
Well, what about GOLD colored panels?

hi there...

i saw that same documentary.  it was pretty good.  i think it is true that ALL cities (infill) will grow back towards the center as gas prices go up...not just jax.

My favorite place to watch the sunset downtown is the bar or the deck at Koja Sushi at the Landing.  If a train crosses the river about that time it's just icing on the cake.
