A Bike Lane For Downtown's Hogan Street?



Could protected bike lanes finally be coming to downtown Jacksonville? Yes, and Hogan Street is ground zero for this much-needed infrastructure and placemaking improvement.

This would be great, particularly as it connects to part of the emerald necklace trail. Why are good ideas finally being taken seriously in Jacksonville?

Option 2 reminds me a lot of the streets in Paris, in a good way.  Personally, I think the biggest problem with Hogan street is the looming skyway tracks, though I could see them providing some decent shade in the summer.  Either way that stretch under the tracks is a dump compared to Laura one block over.
