I know I have been posting on this forum for a couple of years, but strictly as an outsider who would SOMEDAY live in Jacksonville.  Well, that day has arrived.  Tomorrow (Friday, Sept 29) morning, we leave South Haven, Michigan bound for our new life.  I am so excited to finally do this.

To the many who have welcomed me to this forum in the past, despite my non-resident status, I say thank you.  I have learned so much about my future home, just by being on these pages.  For those who questioned "why Jacksonville?", I'll say it again: great weather, great beaches, great dining and shopping, an airport that allows us to travel "home" in a very short time, fun things to do THE WHOLE YEAR!  It is all that is good about Florida, without the millions of annoying tourists.   ;D ;D ;D

Even most of the annoying Michiganders end up on the west coast (Sarasota is particularly popular)!  ;D

Good luck on your journey and I hope you enjoy your new home. I'll be back for a couple of weeks in December. Maybe we can try to meet up to watch a soccer game or something.

Welcome Timmy... the weather may be a bit of a disappointment this weekend...
In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

Can´t help but to love posts like this. As someone who swore they´d never leave JAX (just to permanently leave JAX), love seeing the enthusiasm of those moving there.

Welcome! I do believe this is one of the great places to live all year round (but plan your vacations back to Michigan in July and August lol).

Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?

Thanks, everyone.  My day just got even better!

I'd like that, Adam.  Let's make it happen.

Welcome and enjoy, post pics as you explore

First thing you should do is buy a Jaguars jersey.  All the current controversy notwithstanding, once we get back to normal you'll find that as a Jax resident, nothing is more annoying than hosting a Pittsburgh home game in our stadium. Or Chicago. Or Denver.  Etc.

Welcome!
