6 Places Jacksonville Should Have Saved



It can be argued that Jacksonville is a city that has lots much of its historical identity over the years, due to untimely demolition of unique parts of its urban fabric.  Here's six culturally significant downtown buildings that should have never been allowed to be demolished. Out of all the post office really stands out to me.  That looked like a great building.

A fine list, but for me the #1 "should have been saved" building always will be the Seminole Hotel.

If Riverside Ave. had managed to keep a dozen or more of the mansions that use to line it, I could see it being a rival to New Orleans Garden district.

if all the construction that went to Riverside Ave. had instead gone to Brooklyn or the Northbank, it would have helped both areas in that regard.
