Best Crab place in Jax

So I've heard of Zebo's and R&R, and I know there's a bunch of crab shacks and crab houses on the northside (why are so many clustered here? is it just based on where the crab boats are located?). I'm wondering which ones are the good ones or where I should start my search. Outside of the northside and Arlington, it doesn't seem like there are all that many places that even serve crab in Jax.

Also, I see that several of the places serve pre-cooked seafood that you need to heat up. Is that something I should be concerned about? Any sell raw crabs as well?

You gotta be a bit more specific.

Are you looking for somewhere to go sit down and eat or are you looking for something already cooked that you can take home or are you looking for fresh that you can cook at home?

As NRW says, it depends on what you want. Zebo's and R&R are garlic crab takeout spots.  I've never been to R&R but I've been to Zebo's a few times.  If you don't want garlic crabs, they also sell fresh crab, shrimp, crawfish, etc. that you can take home and cook yourself.  If you want your seafood fried, there's a place in Springfield at 9th and Main, that has decent baskets for an affordable price.  If you're looking for a nice dine-in establishment, try Boiling Crawfish on Normandy or East Baymeadows.  It's a favorite of mine for snow crab and shrimp boils:

A new place opened in the old Sweet Tomatoes at Regency Sq called The Juicy Crab.  It's awesome - and nice fish camp look inside.  Other good seafood there also.

I've heard great things about Juicy Crab.

Considering how often I eat at Boiling Crawfish, I'm surprised I've never seen ya there!

Blue Crabbers at Lenox and Normandy. Cooked and live. Go early on the weekends or they are gone before noon.

I'm not answering the question properly, but one of the better crab shacks I've been to is located on Merritt Island (Cocoa area): Ms Apples Crab Shack. It's right on the Indian River.

You pick out live blue crabs, stick em in a bucket, and they will steam it for you seasoned or unseasoned. And they have shaded picnic benches outside where you can just remove the shells and snack on crab meat all day. Does Jax have a similar place?

Juicy Crab also opened up in the old Shogun spot on Blanding near 295.
