Jumbo Shrimp to host 'You Might Be The Father'

"In what is being called "You Might Be The Father's Day," the Jumbo Shrimp will be giving out pregnancy tests "so you'll know if you need to return for Sunday's Father's Day game," according to the team's website."

I believe the word "thinking" was lost the minute they decided to change the name from the Suns to this.

Surely it should be, "You might be a father," right? A pregnancy test only confirms if a woman is pregnant - it doesn't confirm who the father is!

I have to admit that that is a clever promotion. Remember, any level of minor league ball has the same problem: Tons of games and tons of seats to fill to see the equivalent of a sporting event where your kid isn't playing. Crass and zany promotions are always going to be part of a MILB team GM's playbook for that reason.
