It's a good thing you can't make a left turn onto San Jose on this intersection anymore. I remember back when they had a Burger King over there, you could turn left there and it was very difficult to do. Now they've changed it to where left turns are not allowed. I wonder if that was why that Burger King closed down? Because it was difficult getting out of going left?

I remember the BK that was there and when they were around I felt like they were always empty.  I think the intersection was reconfigured not long after BK sold out to the imaging center a few years ago.

That location made no sense for burger king or any other fast food. It would probably still be around if it was in the Walmart parking lot where the Pollo Tropical is now (not that I care that it's gone).

It was possible to make a left turn there, which was difficult to do.

They've put in a median to where you can't turn left here.

Damn, didnt realize Mandarin Mill had been torn down.  I understand why and dont think a miniature golf course was probably doing too well, but, damn, I had so many good times there as a kid and a teen.  That place was HOT SHIT when it opened.

It is now an emergency care facility.

Burger King did well when most of the fast food was still north of the interstate and traffic on the south side was still 2 lane.  I used to go there often.............way back. The U Store it used to be a medical office building. The doctor thought the live oaks were a bother so he had them cut down. City stopped hime as they hit the ground and they stayed there a long time. Fines paid the office finally opened. It never did take off. Likely the access.  Then there was other properties better located and the storage place finally bought and tore down the empty building.  As you know BK is now gone too. The cancer center put a proton therapy machine in the building so people really have a reason to go in there.
