The review of engineering designs for the entire project constructive Extension to the South was allotted to the Colombian company Integral SA, worth $ 312 million. This work will be extended from the current season until Itagüí future terminus System, to match the 77 street south in the town of Sabaneta. 

It will have two new stations for passengers: a terminus (The Star) located south of the street where 77 south will be built a platform of integration with the backbone of the national railways and other intermediate (Sabaneta) near the street 67 south.

Both stations will be integrated into the architecture proposed in the contest for the "centrality of the South" led by the metropolitan area of Valle de Aburra.

The zone of influence of this project are the municipalities of Itagüí, Sabaneta, La Estrella and Caldas, as well as the Southwest near the Department and travellers South Country moving towards Medellin road.
The extension should be completed in 2010 and mobilize more than 57,000 users according to the study demand calculated based on origin-destination survey.

Since the new southern terminus of users may be transported in about 22 minutes to San Antonio in 42 minutes to nique, in 45 minutes to the station at La Aurora and J line in 43 minutes to Santo Domingo in line K.
