Ballet Barre & The Florida Ballet: Social Networking to Support the Arts

THE FLORIDA BALLET CELEBRATES 30TH ANNIVERSARY SEASON, INTRODUCES YOUNG PROFESSIONALS AUXILIARY AT FALL EVENT

The Florida Ballet’s new young professionals auxiliary, Ballet Barre, will host its inaugural event on Thursday, October 23, 2008 at 7:00pm in celebration of the opening of The Florida Ballet’s 30th Anniversary Season.  The event will be held at The Florida Ballet’s downtown studios, 300 E. State Street, Suite #E, in Jacksonville, FL.  The event is free and open to the public. 

Ballet Barre is an ancillary organization of The Florida Ballet dedicated to enhancing Jacksonville’s cultural landscape.  Comprised primarily of young professionals, Ballet Barre hosts quarterly social networking events with stylish, bold and innovative themes.  These events serve as a means by which The Florida Ballet can cultivate new supporters and patrons, and promote interaction among individuals interested in playing a role in the City’s growing arts community.

The Florida Ballet’s 2008-2009 30th Anniversary Season will open with a performance at the Florida Theatre on November 8, 2008.  The Florida Ballet was founded in 1978 by Laurie Picinich-Byrd and the late Michael F. Byrd and is Jacksonville’s only professional dance company.
