I look forward to Big Al & The Kaholics rocking Daily's Place this fall.

Shit, while we're reminiscing I opt for a Einstein A Go-Go/Art Bar/Milk Bar Daily's Place reunion night!

A little strange that there was that big wave of early concerts announced, and beyond that, it's been pretty quiet.

There are no concerts at all officially announced beyond the end of this month.

What gives?

This Saturday will be a first ever collaboration between the Jaguars and the Jacksonville Symphony as they present Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone IN Concert.  An over sized screen will be above the orchestra as the movie plays and the orchestra preforms the soundtrack live.  Music by John Williams, perhaps the second most successful orchestral composer of the last 50 years ( I think he's worth around $500 million).

This event is a little pricey ($50 ?) but should be amazing, providing the weather co-operates.

Daily's Place. One performance only Saturday at 7:30 pm.

Tickets available through  Ticket Master I believe.

Did they finally run out of dad rock?

More seriously, there are usually fewer tours in the winter. May have something to do with it.
Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?

Wasn't it advertised to have events at all Jaguar home game weekends? I haven't been a fan of most of the lineups but they seem to be driving strong attendance. I'm also curious what the hold up is.

I think that is something you will see in 2018. It was never realistic to think that they could bring in acts when the facility wasn't ready until May. Most tours are booked months in advance.

Uh, let's see.  This Sunday, Jags home game.  Saturday night, big Special Event Concert Targeting Families .

Looks like they are getting it done this weekend.  No 'Dad rock' either!

Brand New is coming the Friday of FL-GA. That is a massive get for Jax. Only 11 cities on the tour after their number 1 album.

You could chalk up the lack of upcoming acts to the slowing down of the outdoor venue season but it does not explain how Daily's Place lost out on acts like Widespread Panic, Jack Johnson, Sammy Hagar, Roger Daltrey, Lindsey Stirling, Avett Brothers, and <gasp> Jacksonville's own Lynyrd Skynyrd, to little 'ol St. Augustine Amphitheater. We'll see what acts they can draw come Spring 2018 but so far St. Aug Amph got an early lead on that front already.

^^THIS!^^ With all the grumblings about the necessity of the city of Jax helping a billionaire that has the money build an amphitheater it's so refreshing to see the venue give one of our most beloved musical institutions such exposure. They can book  all the fancy big-name draws they can for all I care. Just leave room for more events like this one.

I see what the symphony is doing. What are the Jaguars doing? Serving refreshments?

Must say, it's nice that there's finally one show I'd pay to see.

^Deja Entendu was a nearly perfect album.

Haven't been able to get into much of their newer stuff.

Yup, and that was 14 years ago now. Good effort, though, Daily's Place.

Providing the venue?   This place is unique and there was nothing like it before, by that I mean a state of the art outdoor covered  venue.

I hope lots of you will be there to see what is possible when the NFL partners with the cities largest not for profit Cultural Arts Organization

to provide an event for all Jacksonville to enjoy.

Silly me - I thought the City of Jacksonville owned Daily's Place.
