Hard Rock Cafe Jacksonville

So all I would need is an investor...but wouldn't a Southern Rock Hall of Fame Museum with attached restaurant be much more unique than a Hard Rock Cafe?  I think the Courthouse Parking Lot would be a perfect location with the building embracing the river.  We want Jacksonville to be unique, not a cookie cutter of every other city.

Imagine a Freebird Live downtown with attached restaurant.

I like that idea so much better.  There better be some Mayport shrimp on the menu.

We tried to get them downtown a few years ago when they were talking about relocating from Jax Beach.  At the time they wanted nothing to do with downtown and favored going into a strip center on Atlantic Blvd over it.

so I know this is not about hard rock...but whatever happened to the Fudruckers in the Landing?  Any movement at all there?

I'll take a cool, big venue on the river, but Southern Rock Hall of Fame?
That would take up, what, like a large closet space?

Red Robin is slated to open in Avenues Walk so is California Pizza Kitchen.  So I guess there is some hope for Jacksonville.

WHOA WHOA WHOA... CPK at the Avenues Walk?  Really?  Figured that announcement would've gotten as much recognition locally as The Cheesecake Factory did when it was announced as a tenant at the Town Center....  Is this official?

I don't think its been announced yet.  As of today, it has not been added to the list of tenants on the Avenues Walk website.

And I don't think that ever worked out.

So then, this is still speculation...  If they are, i'm surprised they chose Avenues Walk over the Town Center.  The spot where The Sharper Image was would've been a good spot for them...

Nope. from the articles at the time, they had an agreement in principle with Petra Management (Hionides owned) to move in to the Atlantic Theater building, but at the last minute Petra balked, and Freebirds decided to not move.

It's not really speculation.  I saw it on a site-plan a few months ago.  They had Red Robin, CPK, Brio, McCormack & Schdmidts on there.  It was a pretty impressive list of restaurants.  I guess the leases have not been finalized yet and thus they haven't made their way onto Kimco's website.

There is a probability that one or a few of these restaurants may not make it as lease negotiations can be tough and the economy has hit a rougher patch since I last examined this project.

But overall, I have a very good feeling we will see Red Robin and CPK.

Jax already has a Hard Rock Cafe - the current scene at the Landing. Almost identical to what I've seen at Seminole Casino in Lauderdale.

Family-friendly and active young adult destinations are what's needed here.

HUH? Can you explain what you mean?

Why hope for some vapid chain to colonize our town when we should be coming up with our unique, local restaurants?

You mean like.....Jenkins Bar B Q?  :) I miss Jenkins....good ribs man.
