Former Historic Brothel Property Sold For Development

The property at 615 Houston Street has just been sold at a real estate closing say sources close to the deal.  One of the last remaining bordellos of the Ward Street (now Houston Street) Bordello district is slated for demolition. Join us for details after the Jump.

The building pictured is on the block behind the one sold on Houston Street. Anyway, good to see this project finally move forward.

How will grocery needs or retail shopping be addressed for potential residents?

^I assume the same way they will be addressed for potential residents at other apartment complexes and senior apartment facilities. There's a Harveys in downtown, a Publix in Five Points, a Fresh Market in Brooklyn. There's also a proposed CVS in Brooklyn. Each unit has its own parking space integrated into the 7-story structure.  As additional infill occurs, the residents will have the same access to new retail as everyone else. Transit-wise, BRT and Skyway stations are within a block or two block walking distance.

I love the old building. Would be great if they renovated it and turned it into a store or a nice restaurant. Hope they won't demolish it and build some glass and steel office buildings.

^That building shouldn't be impacted by this project.  The building below is the old bordello on Houston Street that will be demolished. From my understanding, it is the last one remaining that was a part of the old Ward Street strip:
