The two-deep this year is 1) Del Rio and 2) Appleby. Franks will likely redshirt, and Trask will get some reps in garbage time or become the starter in case of another year of disastrous QB injuries.

Given the recruiting board, with Jake Allen coming in for 2017, Franks will either have a major breakthrough and start in his second year, or he will follow the 14-lane highway of Gator QBs into moderate success at a middling ACC program. Trask is very interesting, and may well be the long-term solution at QB.

Whatever happens, at least we have OPTIONS. The post-Tebow Brantley/Brissett disaster was so bad that it made Urban quit. Under Muschamp it was always Driskel or bust (and mostly bust even with Driskel). Last year was a total meltdown with Treon once Grier got dinged for PEDs. Bottom line, the QB position in Gainesville can't be any worse than it has been for the past, oh, seven years.

Will be keeping my eye on Trask, could be a hidden jewel if they can give him time to develop. So long as Del Rio can be serviceable, that's all I ask at this point. I mean, it can only go up from having Treon at QB.
