This morning while I was out at the Airport watching some planes takeoff at the Observation Area near runway 32. I left and heading towards my next assignment to photograph a CSX coal train heading towards Yulee. But I needed gas at Flash off Airport Road. Heading that way I saw a dude cut through the grass I was doing 45 the stupid speed limit in this area. And as I got closer I could tell it was a JSO Motorcycle Cop. He parked his cycle on the side of the road. Got out his ray gun. And started to check for speeders coming from the Airport. The first one he got was driving a rental car most likely. The cop got his speed on his ray gun, stood in the road and told the driver to pull over. Then their was another one pulled and another one. Sure they must have been breaking the LAW. But what a way to spend your first day after you arrived at JIA. Not a very good Welcome to Jacksonville Florida pullover here I caught you speeding. ::)

How do you feel when a Huge Business Owner accuses someone of a Crime. And that person never did the crime. And never was changed with said crime? Shouldn't the Law investigate the Huge Business Owner for a Crime against the Innocent Person. See this is when the Law doesn't give a Shit! :o

WTF does this have to do with a cop on a motorcycle giving out tickets?

Settle down Bevis...

The law is the law is the law. If you can't do the time, don't do the crime! These are your words are they not? And here are the other words you used in this sentence. "Slow the hell down! Some of us live here." You opened up the comment with The law is the law. If you can't do the time, don't do the crime! So I asked you Bevis...'something you called me first' a question you would rather place your head in the sand about. If the law is the law is How do you feel when a Huge Business Owner accuses someone of a crime. That this person didn't do nor was never changed with said crime. Shouldn't the JSO cops investigate the Huge Business owner also for a crime? And yes it has nothing to do with giving out tickets but it does have to do with the JSO. Don't tell me that comments made on this forum haven't gone off target before. They do all the time but the main focus here is the JSO.

The law is the law for sure on the highways, do you want to take the thread down the road of what is fair, just and.......RIGHT? Forget the law?

The thread of this post was that its not.....wah, wah, wah fair to have a cop give you a ticket, wah, wah, wah, so if you are speeding, you deserve to get the ticket. Cop has the right, you signed away your rights when you got the DL, and you are subject to the laws of the road.

I guess we needed to get more specific about which law you can follow and which ones are just guidelines. Perhaps you can open a new thread and discuss...YAWN.....

Slow down on the roads, go the speed limit and then you will not have to worry about the tickets. Its pretty damn simple.

I didn't get a ticket I reported what the JSO cop was doing pulling over people that just landed at JIA. Welcome to Jacksonville Florida and here is your ticket for driving over 45mph boo hoo. And it's sad you still don't have the guts to answer my other question.

get off my lawn!!

chill mtrain, its a simple and good point.  There are people speeding all over the massive tangle of roadways that is jax.  It's poor judgment on the part of JSO to patrol here unless it was specifically noted as an area of concern.  Anyone who's been to JIA regularly knows that speeding really isn't a problem.

if curry and jso wanna complain about needing more officers this shows we got a least one to spare.  But hey it's the end of the month.  I know I know there aren't quotas.  Just strong suggestions for keeping your job.

As mentioned, there are roads assigned speed limits too low ... limits not for safety, but to provide a convenient location for the issuance of tickets when the need or desire arises.  The practice of issuing tickets on roads posted at 45 mph, when conditions and common sense clearly support a speed of 60 is a shameful practice for any agency.  To most observers, the practice is only another mechanism through which power is used to allow injustice, and to allow the financial rape the citizen.

Yes ... what a way to greet visitors to our city.  Shameful.  Idiotic. Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot.

Power given to some individuals or agencies ...  too often overcomes the rational ... the sense of justice ... encouraging the abuse and financial rape of the citizen ...  often the vulnerable citizen ...  those who've been raped so many times they've become insensitive to it.
