Wait, what? This is really cool. I had no idea this was happening. Great work, Friends of Hemming Park.
Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?

InnerCityPressure

Yes.  Tell your friends.  We need a good showing at this, so they will continue bringing in relevant acts like this.

These are my two favorites:

Shut In is a pretty complete song and recorded well.

Goshen 97 is very well-written, but the producers dropped the ball on making a fantastic album recording.  I didn't like the full-band arrangement much (see: dude noodling on guitar the whole time and very tasteless drumming).  Instead, I linked to his Tiny Desk Concert.  It is the first song.  I find him a bit hit or miss, but the good ones are good.

Nice! I've been wanting to catch these guys for a few years now. Definitely checking it out.

That "dude" "noodling" is J. Motherfucking Mascis.

I didn't realize it was J. Mascis.  No wonder it sounds like a 90's jam session.  It makes a little more sense that the guitar was given a more prominent role in the mix.  However, I still think it sounds terrible and distracts from the fantastic melodies in the song.  I would have left that song pretty bare bones and let J ruin one of my other tracks.

But no one asked me, so...

Sorry if that seemed a little cranky-- I dont necessarily disagree with you, but when it's J. Mascis, that's like critic-proof.

I'm with you.  J has spent years earning his place in rock history.  He gets a bit of a pass.  Come to think of it, so does Strand of Oaks.  If J Mascis is digging on your song and wants to play/produce it, you have to let him, right?  I mean, you can't say no.
