Imagine my surprise when I turn down my street yesterday morning and right in front of me is a launch in progress down at the Cape.

It was an Atlas V with a GPS sat.

Later this month another SpaceX Falcon will be launching a SES Comm sat for Indonesia.

Things are picking up in the launch business in 2016.

If you include Vandenberg, its going to be a busy year.

Having lived in Jax only 13 years, its still a cool site for me to see a launch, especially outside my door.

To this day nothing beats the shuttle launch at dusk that brought 6 lanes of Beach Boulevard to a dead stop.

I love the launches too!

Everyone should see one from the Cape.  There is nothing that you will ever experience that compares.

I can't wait to see the new SLS rocket NASA is building take flight.  I've heard from the old timers that saw the Saturn Vs that it was just awesome when they launched.  The SLS should be a similar experience ;D

I regret not taking my sons to the last Shuttle launch, but I'm am very happy that the new SLS vehicles are promising to be just as magnificent.
