Fill in the blank city is gonna get sucha sucha, so that automatically equates to Jax being 'too outdated and behind to times' for not having it, typical jumping the gun conclusion....IMO light rail is currently feasible in a place like Miami Beach, but not it Jax. The last thing we need right now is a ground version of the Skyway Express (in terms of low ridership etc) in the heart of the core. IMO JTA is doing the right thing not rushing the eventual transformation and expansion of the ASE. Who knows, that existing infrastructure could be the start of future light rail.

I-10, you're wrong about rail in Jax's core but that's for another thread. Jax's core would economically benefit with from better transit service.

As for the Miami Beach project, it sounds like its years away from actually happening if they are going to do studies in hopes of getting federal funding. That's a pretty competitive process for a limited pot of funding.

^^^I don't buy the romanticization of ground rail transit in the core, but you always talked about things like 'points of interest'. Where are Jax's point A to B currently at? I didn't rule rail out in Jax for the future. So I'm wrong for currently being measured and cautious with light rail in Jax, everything is keeping up with the Joneses, lets get it done now!!! gotcha...

^ well let's see....

from south to north - Avenues, Town Center/Tindeltown, downtown, River City/airport
from west to east - Cecil, Riverside-Avondale, downtown, San Marco/St. Nicholas, FSCJ/UNF, beaches

and that doesn't include outer areas like St. Augustine, Green Cove Springs, and Orange Park...seems pretty easy to put together at least two Point A - Point B - Point C - etc. routes
