Apple's quest to bring broadcast content to the 21st century has been put on hold for now. Their effort to bring a low cost TV service didnt progress because the various network owners refused to cooperate.

Apple wanted $30 /mo with a basic channel set. None of the networks would budge and wanted ALL of their channels included, which does not fit a $30 model.

Rabbit ears plus Sling TV w/ the Sports package and a Fire TV has you covered then.

The Network and cable networks are operating on such an old and antiquated model. They are going to kill themselves for not changing and will soon follow the route of Blockbuster and Red Box in not adapting to anything and slowly dying. Their revenues are dropping. No one wants cable packages anymore. They are refusing to working with Netflix . They only give part of their seasons available to Hulu. Its a big joke . Most forward thinking shows and artists are moving their product to streaming services.
