Second location opening downtown at The Elbow next to Cowford Chophouse.

They definitely don't need the additional brewing capacity, so I wonder how much of this is trying to get in on the downtown revival, and how much is in response to Intuition moving downtown.

Good news, and good location. It should bring a new revenue stream and visibility without the cost of a large-scale brewing operation.

"We're doing it for the added exposure of being Downtown," she said.

The Downtown location will be used to brew and distribute small-batch releases, which are useful to companies that want an unusual brew for a special promotion.

"It's going to be kind of like our test kitchen," Miller said. "We'll be able to give our customers more of that variety and we'll be able to brew it right there."

I wonder why they are bothering to brew at all.  Is this a way to avoid the 3 tier system?  Why not just have a bar or bottle shop?  Seems like an unnecessary expense to me.

they allow amateur craft brewers to come in and "play" on occasion now.  I think this pretty much formalizes that program at the downtown location.

It's probably just as easy to brew the smaller stuff there, and they can still bring over kegs from the main brewery if they want. But yeah, not having to pay the middleman to sell their own beer in their own venue is probably a strong incentive.

It is great to see local companies investing in Downtown. I wish them great success.

Does this mean they will be open before Intuition?

This is really exciting! Peterbrooke just opened their retail store on Bay Street as well. I'm noticing more local entrepreneurs are choosing to be downtown because they want to be part of the growth. It kind of makes me want to move back downtown.

Wow Ben Davis, they did not need to leave Riverside either to accomplish their goals.

WTF are you talking about?  Intuition has absolutely maxed out their current location and need something larger.  Bold City started in a larger building and has been able to lease more space, so this is just a way for them to branch out.  Both breweries are joining in the effort to revitalize downtown, but Intuition needs more space anyway so they are killing 2 birds with one stone.  Stop trying to pick fights you know nothing about.
