All Aboard Florida Working On A Fifth Downtown Miami Tower And A Fort Lauderdale Rental Tower

All Aboard Florida is in talks to expand their real estate and rail project:
•The company is in negotiations with the city of Miami for a land swap deal that could allow for a fifth tower to be built as part of the MiamiCentral project. AAF wants to exchange a piece of land that they own near the Miami Arena site, for a parcel next to Government Center
•Negotiations with the city are ongoing over air rights needed for the train guideways that will run above city streets into the terminal. A vote on the matter is likely later this month.
•Dade commissioners approved a payment to AAF to place a Tri-Rail station in the MiamiCentral project on a first reading. Talks are ongoing over payments for Tri-Rail from the CRA and the city.
•All Aboard Florida unveiled plans for a 20-story tower next to the Fort Lauderdale station. In addition, the company wants local officials to consider a deal that could redevelop and add new towers to property currently occupied by a bus depot, state office towers, and city hall.

Imagine if they did all of this in LaVilla. Just give them the Prime and let them go to town, they built it in the first place.

^That's my dream as far as anything passenger rail related in this town goes. I hope their initial phase is a huge success and they quickly expand to Jax on the track they already own. If so, let them run with the Prime and the land around it. They are definitely better at this stuff than we are...

I'm not sure why the city isn't actively courting them hard, really hard.

Because AAF does not want to be courted.

But I am pretty sure that after they start regular service, Tampa will be beating the horses to get their attention.

AAF has made it clear....until they get service started, dont call them, they will call you.
