Well, thanks for that, but it doesn't change my opinion, considering what he's said before it was time to rally around Brown for re-election.
Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?

What's great about the election last night is that we get a clean slate; the baggage of the last four years is gone.  I was in touch with Brian Hughes last night and sent the Mayor-Elect my congrats and best wishes.

We have a clean slate on the Council, too.  Replacing Daniels with Brosche is huge.  Tommy made the HRO a tentpole issue in the campaign.  Replacing Clay with Morgan, which feels especially consequential and personally satisfying.  No more Don Redman.

It was a good night for equality and I'm glad that Mr. Curry listens to the wise counsel of Delaney (all of them), Peyton, and Audrey Moran.  Lenny said after the election that's he unconvinced on the needs for the HRO; I can't imagine a better group to convince him.

Definitely a good night for equality. Basically, we've traded out Clay Yarborough for Morgan and Daniels for the strongest new candidate of the cycle, Anna Brosche. I don't know much about Sam Newby, but his statements have been much more receptive to the HRO issue than Robin Lumb was. Tommy's decisive win was huge and a great sign about the direction the city is headed. The council has never been better prepared to pass an HRO than will be in July.

I have hope that Mayor Curry will see the light. It's certainly a hot topic for many of his biggest supporters. If he gets on board, or at least agrees to drive the discussion, we're in a very good place.

Agree with every point here.  Tommy got more votes last night than anyone else and he talked about the HRO at nearly every appearance.  The biggest winner of the night was maybe the Chamber.  And the Chamber is really into the nondiscrimination ordinance for business reasons.  Mayor Delaney has been a champion.  And Audrey Moran is the next head of the Chamber.  Also a champion.

Mayor Curry will have some great people surrounding him.  Though, admittedly, so did Mayor Brown.  We all have work to do on this and so many other issues.

WJXT had some yahoo post, "Mayor Curry, when you gonna fix the HRO issue?", he has not even been mayor-elect for 24 freaking hours.

Give him some time, give him the benefit of the doubt. Don't expect him to fix all the issues overnight people. Relax, chill, go to the beach and count the grains of sand and when finished, start over. Give him time to work on these issues.
And, that $115 will save Jacksonville from financial ruin. - Mayor John Peyton

"This is a game-changer. This is what I mean when I say taking Jacksonville to the next level."
-Mayor Alvin Brown on new video boards at Everbank Field

On this issue, he has a year from July, as far as I'm concerned.

I'd love to see this happen after the budget.  I know the budget needs to take precedence off the bat, obviously.  It would be great to have this wrapped up before the 2016 roadshow rolls through, right?
