Good morning Jacksonvillians,

My name is Jessie and I am working the Lisa King for City Council - District 2 Campaign. I wanted to introduce myself and make myself available to any of you who have questions about Lisa's platform or stance on any issues.

For example, what issues do you believe are most important in this election? What concerns do you have about Lisa's policy positions?

This is a pivotal election and it's critical that voters have a chance to express their concerns to their potential representatives - we are here to address those concerns.

Jessie,

Lisa is vastly more qualified than her opponent and has been equally superior in her transparency and availability to voters. Sadly, blind partisanship will cost her votes in a majority Republican district.

If she is elected, would Lisa be supportive of amending the Charter to have non-partisan elections for City Council? If she wouldn't, does that reflect poorly on her present GOTV strategies given she is a lifelong Democratic partisan and operative?

I'm a little disappointed that the candidate's campaign invited questions and has yet to respond. I thought it was a straightforward question.

DuvalHusky,

I apologize for the delay in response.

Lisa is absolutely a supporter of the the non-partisan elections amendment. In fact, she spoke to a small group this weekend at the TEDx Jacksonville - Excellence in Governance Event on the subject. Non- partisan elections would result in more substantive campaigns that are focused on candidate's policy platforms and less on the letter that follows their name.
