Hi everyone,

Just a friendly reminder that early voting for our General Election is happening now.  If you haven't voted absentee and don't like the thought of waiting for Election Day on May 19, now is your time.

Happy voting!

And, of course, I have reached some personal conclusions on how I'm voting later this afternoon.

They are here.

After a lot of thoughtful consideration of the full board, all the issues, I've decided to vote for Mayor Alvin Brown.

Lame. But I can understand it.
Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?

Yeah, yeah.  I know.  I think he's in the process of evolving on the HRO issue.  Hoping so, anyway.

I did too Jimmy.  Brown got my vote and I almost cannot believe it myself.  I would rather four more years of Brown with a strong council than a potential 8 years of Curry's polarizing GOP extremism in conjunction with many of the worst political players around endorsing him.  There is an ugly and aggressive side to his style of politics and frankly, that is not something Jacksonville needs right now. The maneuvers made by the local RNC in order to select Curry as the candidate of choice in the face of the fact that there was no majority in his favor until the vote was gerrymandered by Robin Lumb, told me all I needed to know about the local GOP power structure as it currently stands.  As someone who will vote for a good candidate regardless of party, which has included republican candidates, Curry's associations with some of the biggest "nutter's" in politics today has me very worried.  We don't need a Washington style GOP mindset locally which is what we would get with Curry. Bad enough having a crook for governor.  Both parties have serious problems but right now the GOP hardliners are something that to my view is crippling us at the federal and state level.  No need to reflect that here in Jacksonville.  In my opinion with respect to those who differ in their view.

We're all mad here!
