It covers enough for the operator to make their $12,000 annual rent plus give 10% of their monthly revenues to COJ. Historically, the fees alone have generated over $100k a year, plus what they make on concessions, tackle and rentals. The operator isn't the bad guy here.
Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?

I'm not saying they are. I am, of course, blaming Jacksonville.

Who is the mayor of Jacksonville? I'm with a broken record....yeah that guy. The pier may not be there in 4 years, at this rate.
And, that $115 will save Jacksonville from financial ruin. - Mayor John Peyton

"This is a game-changer. This is what I mean when I say taking Jacksonville to the next level."
-Mayor Alvin Brown on new video boards at Everbank Field

I didn't mean the government, I meant the people.
The City (capital C) only does what the people want. Public infrastructure and its maintenance are not a high priority for the electorate.

When the New Pier opened ten years ago it proved a grave disappointment for intuitives. We missed the kitchen plywood awnings that were seemingly, perpetually in a state of disrepair.

I have only accessed the pier three times since "Renewed",a decided lapse.
