While Grandpa was busy playing on streetcars in the Big Easy, baby Arwin was born. TINY little girl weighing in at 5.0 pounds and 18" long. A Texan by birth in Allen... (Dallas NE) she sports a full head of dark hair and rosy cheeks. She of COURSE, is perfect in every way. I can see when it comes time for college, we'll have some contest to get her to Oklahoma State or to JU, UNF etc... Family NEVER lets family go to Texas or OU.

There was something "Poetic" about the announcement, I was riding a 1926 model, Pearl-Thomas streetcar up Canal street to the "City Park" when the call came in... Ahhh PERFECT timing!

For those that knew the story, she had stopped growing. A rare condition where there isn't enough fluid to tend to the baby's needs. The good part is, most of these babys are fine as long as they don't stay in the oven too long. In Arwins case they planned to induce but baby had other ideas. Just as they started the process "DING" baby decided to come on her own power! Thanks for the prayers and good wishes.

Congrats on the grandchild and the joy of riding streetcars this week.

Cool. Congrats Ocklawaha.  Tell the fam that she deserves to go to OU. :)

Congratulations Ock!  Start a 529 college savings plan to one day get her into Appalachian State!

Congrats Man!  My wife just had a baby boy (Jaylon) two months ago.  He was premature but we're almost home though!

Hope all is well with the new little one.

Hey Jason...congratulations to you and your wife also.  I know how heart-wrenching that can be to have a little boy in the ICU.  Not personally, but a really great friend and his wife just had a baby boy (on April 12th I think???) and he had pneumonia and some other respiratory complications and was in the ICU at Shands for 10 days.  Glad to hear Jaylon will be "free & clear" soon!

Jason

Thanks guys (sorry to jack your thread Ock).

10 days would have been nothing (although I'm thankful our little one has been healthy).  My wife has been living in Orlando for two months now.  He doesn't have any problems other than being born three months early.  I also have a 1 1/2 year old that was premature and spent 7 weeks at Shands with him so I could say that I'm used to it. :)   Its all working out though and we'll all be home together soon.  Next I'll be off to the Doc myself to get "fixed".  I don't want to go through this again! :)

Jason, anytime you need to man! Congrats... and THANKS for Jacking the Thread for such blessed news, glad yours and ours turned out fine. Both were a tad early, ours VERY small, but glad to report she has regained all of the birthweight already. Hope and prayers that yours is just as good. You know, he'd make a GREAT Oklahoma State Cowboy! We need a good front line to roll over OU!
