Historic Neighborhood General Contractors?

I don't know the specifics of what you're trying to do or what the budget is, but you may wish to revise your plans a little. It sounds like you've gotten the brush from a half-dozen contractors at this point, I don't know what the problem is, but it may be time to revisit what you're asking for.

That and I think because of how you're going about it, i.e. publicly, it's like that person (they exist in surprising numbers) who calls trying to book something on the calendar and tells my secretary on the phone they've already been to three other lawyers. She won't even book the consult. At that point you already know upfront that whatever they want is so unreasonable three other guys already said no to it, so what's the point. It would be wrong to take their money for a consult fee knowing you're not taking the case. It's just a waste of time.

I think if a contractor realizes you're getting estimates from 5 other contractors, either because they read this thread, or if you let it slip, they're going to be disinclined to play estimate roulette given that the market is picking up. All the ones I know are busy. Maybe revise the approach a little is all I'm saying.
