Forum for Jacksonville District 1 City Council candidates Feb. 17
By Tessa Duvall Wed, Jan 28, 2015 @ 5:22 pm

The University Park Civic Association will host the candidates for Jacksonville City Council District 1 at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 17 at the University Park Branch of the Jacksonville Public Library, 3435 University Blvd. N., association president Maceo George said.
Though it is the association's regular meeting, the public is welcome to attend to hear the candidates, George said.

The candidates will be given about five minutes each to introduce themselves and to explain what they would like to accomplish in office if elected, George said. Then candidates will take questions from the audience.

As of early Wednesday afternoon, George said candidates Mike Anania, Joyce Morgan and Melody Shacter have accepted the invitations to the meeting, and he is awaiting a response from candidate Eddie Christian.

Thanks for sharing this Diane.  I need to learn about the candidates in District 1.

You are very welcome Charles.  I am doing my best to make people aware of the forums as well as understand the entire campaign/election cycle as well as the candidates. It's that important to me and many others like yourself.

We have a chance to elect a non-Yarborough to the seat.

Cheshire Cat

We sure do.  Can I get an "amen" on that?  lol

But there is also a well-financed chance to elect another Yarborough in D-1, too.  Need to learn about the alternatives, and hope they don't cancel each other out.
