QuoteExecutive Chef Kenny Gilbert has been on TV shows, opened restaurants and cooked for Oprah Winfrey.

Now, he plans to open a restaurant Downtown in the historic New York Steam Laundry Building on Forsyth Street — once he gets the funding in place.

Gilbert said he's seeking investors who understand the business and want to help grow Downtown, as Shad Khan is doing for the Jaguars.
"I'm looking for that investor that lives and breathes Jacksonville and for the vision that I want to do," he said. "I want people to get off the plane and say we have to go here because of the image and professionalism. Where the Town Center is now is where Downtown should be."

It would be nice if downtown could be transformed into a version of Magnificent Mile going from the Landing to the Stadium.

It would be nice! I'm in Miami right now and there is an awesome outdoor mall in front of my hotel that is like a combination of the landing and the town center. I think its called Biscayne mall. It would be awesome if the landing was like that. It would also be nice if we had a hard rock cafe. I love that place.

Sounds like you're at Bayside Marketplace in downtown Miami. It's a bigger, more successful sibling of the Landing.
