Improving views of the economy have helped hike President Barack Obama's approval rating to a 20-month high, a new CNN/ORC poll showed Tuesday, as markets climbed to record levels at news of an economy in overdrive.
More Americans still disapprove of the job Obama is doing as President. But at 48%, Obama's approval rating is at its highest point in CNN polling since May 2013.
The gains were driven by newfound backing among women, independents and millennials — groups where Obama's approval numbers jumped 10 percentage points from a month ago.

Polls should be conducted soon after Press Conferences (as per this one, yes?)

The more President Obama speaks directly to the issues, rather than unprecedented endless speak for him by others, the more the approval and admiration "Level" will soar. As with most.

I'd like to know public opinion on immigration.

At any rate, I would attribute this to:
1 - gas prices
And
2 - Christmas. People are usually in a better mood.

One things for sure, my opinion of our war mongering, patriot act renewing president hasn't changed :)

spuwho

This is like getting excited that the Jags scored 10 points, when they were down by 30.

Yes except his approval rating was 12 points below positive now just two meaningful enough to comment on.

Obama will look better and better over the next two years now that the lunatics are in control of both houses of the congressional asylum.

So he'll fit right in then huh?

I think his approval rating is still lower than Bush (and he was pretty bad!) as per Gallop (not biased-CNN), so that's really telling.

Not even close.  The lowest Obama has had was 38%; the lowest Bush had was 25%.
