8,000 All Aboard Florida comments received by Tuesday



Some 8,000 comments about All Aboard Florida were submitted to the Federal Railroad Administration through Tuesday, one day before the end of a 75-day comment period.

The federal agency was accepting comments on its draft environmental impact statement, a 522-page document that examined the impact of All Aboard Florida — the proposed Miami-to-Orlando high-speed passenger train — on land use and transportation; physical environment; natural environment; and social and economic environment.

The comments will be considered for any update of the draft. There is no target date for completion of the final environmental impact statement, Federal Railroad Administration spokesman Michael Cole said.
