QuoteA group of major business leaders in Jacksonville are banking on the city's momentum to carry over into 2015 as the timeline for new developments — including the Laura Street Trio, the Jacksonville Landing and the Shipyards — moves ahead.

During a Jacksonville Business Journal panel discussion Tuesday at EverBank Field, Mike Balanky, president of Chase Properties, said the trick is to keep the momentum going.

"This is what people in Jacksonville have been waiting for a long time," said Balanky, who, along with longtime developer Peter Rummell, plans to build a major mixed-use project on the Southbank. "What's happening here right now is centered around the river. This is Jacksonville's finest asset. I like to say that there probably is no city in America that has as much undeveloped riverfront property as we do, so the opportunity is enormous for us."
