Could the next home of the International Swim Hall of Fame be Downtown Jax?

Jack Manilla of Portofino Pools wants to bring the International Swim Hall of Fame — and all the economic impact that comes with it — to Jacksonville.

It all started when Manilla was in Tallahassee. He heard about the International Hall of Fame was looking for a new home and asked, "Why don't you come to Jacksonville?"

The International Swim Hall of Fame is in its 50th year of existence, leasing a space owned by the City of Fort Lauderdale. This year, the city hired a developer to redo the several blocks where the facility is currently located.
What the developers came up with didn't sit well with the hall of fame trustees.

Commodore Point was mentioned as a possible location.

Not sure that makes a ton of sense.
