If I were Mayor?

I would immediately add Ock and Lakelander to my staff and sit back and collect all the glory for their ingenious ideas.   ;D

I concur, I concur; it's one thing to say what you would do if you were the Mayor, but it's another when you layout or outline what you would do as Mayor in minute detail!

If I were Mayor, I would give the tourist and the residents a REAL reason to come to downtown. I would build another downtown shopping center and to get the business owners to extend the hours of all the retail and restaurant on every block including the Bud Zone. Then I would help build a few high rise hotels to replace all the surface parking lots, and have Laura street be more like Times Square - with plans of restoring the old Barnett Bank's electronic clock, just to name a few!  ;)

Good ideas; but I think before you build all of those hotels to replace the surface parking lots, you'd better build or create something downtown or in the City (such as a mega-convention center or tourist attraction) to justify building all of those hotels, and, another good idea would be to lure more residents into downtown and in the surrounding neighborhoods to justify extending those retail and restaurant hours, building the new shopping center, etc.; you need the people to come into downtown not only from around the City but who are or will live in downtown or nearby who will frequent these businesses on a regular basis.
