Worried about greenhouse gases, JEA wants to sign a 20-year contract to buy electricity from a planned new nuclear power plant outside Augusta, Ga.

It would be one of the first new nuclear plants licensed in the United States in decades.

"Nuclear power emits zero greenhouse gases. So from a long-range standpoint, to have a lower carbon footprint, ... nuclear is a key alternative for us," Quick said.

Hmmm,  isn't JEA selling power to other utilities?  Not a bad deal to get in on though.

I'd really like to see Florida go nuclear.
