Some federal and state officials ... assert that more companies are violating wage laws than ever before, pointing to the record number of enforcement actions they have pursued. They complain that more employers — perhaps motivated by fierce competition or a desire for higher profits — are flouting wage laws.

It's unfathomable to think that a large corporation like Schneider would break the law so regularly without concern of a lawsuit.

There was another article in the Times this morning that reported a comeback in union jobs in New York state. It will be interesting to see if that trend continues.

One only need to look locally at La Nopalera here in Jacksonville.

They were busted once for violating wage laws. They were recently busted again.

I read a different report on a different site before I saw Finehoe's posting. It also compared corporate growth with executive growth.

Mandated Healthcare will no doubt destroy the 40 hour week. You see companies only allowing 29 hours a week, to stay well below the mandates and this forces workers to find more jobs to make the same amounts. You have to be a fool to run a company with 40 hours and have issues of being taken to court over wage issues.
And, that $115 will save Jacksonville from financial ruin. - Mayor John Peyton

"This is a game-changer. This is what I mean when I say taking Jacksonville to the next level."

Why is it that when I steal $50 out of your pocket, I go to prison, but when your boss steals $50 out of your pocket he gets off scott free? Aren't corporations people?
