Hi all,  I'm new to the website and interested in growing as a JAX resident (well almost JAX).  My fam and I live in OP due to my former job (retired from NAS JAX).  I'm intrigued by Springfield, why should or shouldn't we relocate there?

Welcome to the site. I will move to Springfield on September 1st, but a lot of friends of mine live there. It is a great sense of community that I think would fit almost any lifestyle. When the community is together like that, there is only one way for it to go that is up. Don't listen to the negativity about any area and do your own research about an area... heck, drive through it for yourself and look around, as your opinion might be different from another's. The historic feel of the neighborhood is definitely in a league of its own though, so if that's what catches your fancy then look into it. However, the longer you wait the less great the deal will be when you decide to pioneer your own place.
