When is Jacksonville and Waycross going to sign the deal to have the ultra-low speed steam engine rail service between the two villages?

Sarcasm is golden, but your facts might be a bit tilted... One of the American railroad speed records is held by a steam powered train on that Savannah - Waycross - Jacksonville run. Speed that would leave 95% of Amtrak in their dust.

So much for Treasure Coast opposition.....

This is true. The environmental report (FONSI) for Miami to WPB showed "no material impact" which means they can start construction immediately. The report for WPB to Cocoa is still in progress.

When you see the parking lot cleared out in downtown Miami and the construction fence go up, that is a sure sign.

My statement was purely sarcastic, not factual.  ;D

But I am happy to read that AAF now has it eyes set on Jacksonville.   Hopefully we will have the "cool" trains coming to Jacksonville and instead of "Grandma's Buick" train A.K.A. Amtrak! I would rather take an AAF train to South Florida than fly, especially now that the airlines are doing away with direct flights from Jacksonville to Fort Lauderdale.

JetBlue and Silver Airways (United) are adding JAX-FLL flights to replace SWAs capacity.

Which is odd as the SWA flight last week was sold out.

For AAF, They are expecting rental car and car sharing services to align themselves close to the new stations when complete. So you could reserve a Zipcar, usually a Smart or Toyota IQ if the local transit can't connect you.
