GOP House majority Leader Eric Cantor defeated by Tea Party primary opponent

It is pretty rare for someone this high up the chain to lose in a primary.  He is the only Jewish Republican House member. He represents Virginia's 7th district.

Good to see him reap what he sowed.

Cantor spent $5.5mm compared to $200k for his opponent and yet was handed a landslide defeat.

I remember when Mike Weinstein was running for Mayor against Peyton, when Peyton was running for a second term. Everyone, including Weinstein apparently since he dropped out, thought Peyton's money would make it impossible to win.  I argued that if Weinstein simply had enough to get his message out, that it wouldn't matter if he was outspent. It is a shame we never found out for sure.
