I agree.....that is why I will never vote for him...He is an opportunist who will say anything to get elected.

So you don't vote?  ;)

I would appreciate some good Republican fiscal leadership but I certainly do not want the First Baptist anti- LGBT foolishness...
Not interested myself....

Yeah I want anti lgbt with no fiscal leadership. But as long as Alvin is in charge its OK

We've become accustomed to candidates promoted to office more as a consequence of the support of one wealthy individual, and less by the support of votes from the average citizen.  The realization of democracy wanes as campaign money from a few wealthy individuals rises.  Its the way of today.

At this point, I'd rather vote for an outside, than someone born and raised in Jacksonville.   New blood. New ideas.

Should be a very interesting race. I need to do some homework. The campaign should be very engaging, hope we see some lively debate. I think the ability to debate and hold your position under questioning is a crucial factor for a leader.

I'd like to know what bridge he's trying to mimic in his official logo...surely not one in Jacksonville!

So is he, or is he not in favor of the HRO expansion.

Hard to tell from this interview.

^Curry needs to quit dancing around this issue. Brown's problem was his cowardice on the HRO; Curry fumfering on the same issue isn't going to win over the people upset with Brown.
Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?

Why?

Once you take a side on such a divisive issue, you run the risk of alienating potential voters.  C'mon man.  Politiks 101 - straddle the fence until the bitter end.

^You'd be hard pressed to get a worse track record on LGBT issues than Alvin Brown.
I agree 100%

But until he does take a stance he will be continuously asked where he stands and should he answer like he did on First Coast Connect all he is doing is allienating people on every side of the issue.

He poorly delivered a response that was quite clearly the result of polling and focus groups with the results then distilled in to a 30 second sound bite by political consultants.  I will give him credit for staying on message, but it was obvious that Melissa Ross saw blood in the water as she kept coming back to the issue.

Curry really wiffed on this show and has now set the tone for his early campaign.  He will need to find a better way to address the HRO issue, or he risks looking like Greg Anderson and Jim Love who through their equivacation on 296 wound up making everyone from Equality Florida to hatemongers like Mr. Johnson angry with them.

Do we have any idea yet what this guy stands for on anything??  It is kind of sad at this point not much is known. I guess with the total lack of leadership with Brown this is what is happening. Nobody needs to come out and say want their stances are on much but just point to Browns total lack of leadership.  Seems like a slippery slope we could be headed down with little alternatives.  Sad.
