From Times Union May 1, 2014:

QuoteSaturday will be the 113th anniversary of the Great Fire of 1901, which destroyed most of Jacksonville and left 10,000 people homeless.

Bold City Brewery named its 1901 Red Ale after the conflagration (we don't get to use that word often and it's sort of fun). And to mark the anniversary, Bold City on Saturday will donate $1 from every pint of beer sold in its taproom – not just the 1901 – to Camp Amigo, a summer camp for young burn survivors. It's also donating some of the proceeds from keg sales of the 1901 throughout its market.

The Rosselle Street tap room opens at 1 p.m. Saturday. The Firewater Tent Revival will play at 7 p.m.
And, that $115 will save Jacksonville from financial ruin. - Mayor John Peyton

"This is a game-changer. This is what I mean when I say taking Jacksonville to the next level."
