Duval County Republicans on Wednesday seized on a charge made by JEA board member Peter Bower that one of Mayor Alvin Brown's administration officials strong-armed him in order to guarantee support for a pension-reform proposal.

Rick Hartley, chairman of the Duval County Republican Party, sent a letter to Gov. Rick Scott asking that he request Attorney General Pam Bondi to investigate the allegation against Brown, a Democrat, and his administration.

"The Mayor of Jacksonville should not be seeking to intimidate citizens that serve voluntary on the county boards, commissions and authorities," Hartley wrote.

It's about time people started taking Brown to task for this stuff - and it's well past time the media covered it.
Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?
