It turns out that there are presently three entertainment based establishments that will be announcing that they will be opening downtown.  Nothing national, local places.  That space will be one of them apparently.

I will try to get specifics for this thread to post a little later on today. 

OMG...i don't care if they aren't national places!!  this is huge news!  three new bars and restaurants!!  being opened up/announced downtown at ONCE!!!  this could be the shot in the arm that downtown needs, right??  especially heading into this recession when every other retailer our there is trimming expense and cutting back with consumer confidence at a 10-year low.

I was legitimately excited about the new companies being established.  I'm sorry you took my intial disbelief of you on the other thread as "boredom".  I am certainly not bored.

Anyway, thanks again for posting.  This is huge news, so I posted it as a new thread and linked it over here for more detailed info - hope that you do not mind.

Can you please post the 3 new companies in one or both of the threads ASAP??

lol.  nope, I guess I was a little opaque with the post, and then got sidetracked before any more real discussion could happen. 

As it happens, I was in a meeting downtown day before yesterday (tuesday) discussing a large roster of event programming specific to the core, and the subject came up on any upcoming openings of restaurants or bars who might be able to participate in some of the later events.

It turns out that there are presently three entertainment based establishments that will be announcing that they will be opening downtown.  Nothing national, local places.  That space will be one of them apparently.

I will try to get specifics for this thread to post a little later on today. 

I'm not going to go fishing for any more clues on what these places are, but where exactly are these places going to be located?  Bay Street perhaps?  If so, Bay street would be on its way to really becoming the entertainment district.  Now if we could just do something with the county courthouse.

i mean - the last time we heard about this much "entertainment-based" stuff coming downtown was with the bay st town center right before the super bowl!!

i just really, really hope this is real "entertainment" businesses and not like "Bob's DJ Service".  also, i feel it this time!!!  i mean, it can't just be a huge let down!!  Please, our time has come!!!
