Non-RedNeck Westsider:  It's (the city getting credit for saving the cruise) complete bullshit, and of all people (I have no reason to call you out sheclown, but I am and don't take it personally) to give the city kudos, I figured you'd be one of the least.  Especially when all they're doing is basking in the glory of fixing their own fuck-up in the first place.

The smart thing to do when ones who typically act badly somehow step up and do the right thing is to give them credit where due.  In this case, Chris Hand of the Mayor's office stepped up and manged to fix what incompetence was destroying.  He, and therefore the Mayor's office, deserves credit for that.

Meanwhile, intelligent people will understand that saving the Main Street Cruise does not and will not make up for the  mess at least two Mayoral administrations have caused and the current Mayor's office seems to be perpetuating by defending and promoting those most responsible for the mess.

I understand your and sheclown's point, and maybe it is the right civil thing to do;  I guess I just don't happen to share the same feelings about it.
