The history of a house: 55 Hubbard Street and the letter

WOW!  This is kind of thing that fascinates me about older homes.  I look at them with curiosity and awe.  Whether they be a huge house in Springfield or an old ramshackle farmhouse in the country.  Families lived here.  Who were they?  What were they like?  What joys and sorrows did they share there?  A house is not just a building put together with wood and nails, etc.  It is a HOME where love may have abounded.  Lives were lived, traditions established, who knows.  wish there were people willing to share stories such as these!!!
