Cheshire Cat

Check out the number of threads on this forum that talk about what is missing or wrong with Jacksonville.  Many ask what is needed and what is missing.  Apparently what is missing is a collective vision for a city that has too long been run like a corporation from the top down.  Now I love this view as it flies in the face of the rhetoric Jacksonville has been duped into believing which is run the city like a business, problem solved.  This mindset is evidenced by the reality that Jacksonville looks to folks like the Civic Council for leadership cause, well, they are business men.  lol  Time for a change Jacksonville and a wake up call.  Welcome to Jacksonville Mr. Astleford!  We have been waiting for you too long.  I am really looking forward to Mike Clark's full article this coming Sunday.  :)

Paul Astleford, the CEO of Visit Jacksonville, loves Jacksonville. There is so much positive energy here.

So why isn't Jacksonville better known? What is holding us back?

He did some investigating and has concluded there is a vision deficit here. People unconsciously are putting up roadblocks with all the best intentions.

He recently spoke to the editorial board of the Times-Union and explained his thesis. I will be writing about this on Sunday.
