Study sifts options for new train line through Northside

From that assortment of potential paths, a study will hammer out a best route for moving cargo from Jacksonville’s port to existing rail lines that connect Northeast Florida with the rest of the country.

All the scenarios avoid existing neighborhoods. But Northside residents already deal with a lot of railroad crossings, so adding another set of tracks isn’t a popular idea, said Dick Berry, executive director of EDEN Group, which promotes development of the Northside.

the study is $200,000...what isn't reported is that this is Phase 2....Phase 1 study cost $200-$300k....so $500k invested so far
